Ma Siliang, born in Beijing, is a multidisciplinary artist. His art practice focuses on interrogating the processes and mechanisms whereby how phenomena are domesticated into meaning within contemporary culture. By undermining, modifying, appropriating and reconfiguring everyday narratives, turning them into alien and questionable to re-examine the legitimacy of existing symbolic system.

Ma Siliang received his BA in Fashion Photography from the University of the Arts London in 2007; and his MA in Photography from the Royal College of Art in 2018.
