Fluctuations from Disorder to Order brings three photographs selected from a large, undirected archive into a triptych. Through their arrangement, a pattern begins to emerge. Selection, adjacency and the viewer’s expectations work together to make the images appear connected. This order remains provisional, dependent on both the decisions that assemble the photographs and the associations brought to them. The work examines how photographic images acquire coherence and credibility through editing and interpretation, preserving the tension between chance and deliberate construction. As an early investigation into the organisation of perception, it asks how an arrangement of images becomes convincing enough to be experienced as a meaningful account of the world.//Fig. 23 Installation render
